The Professional Side

Dr. Stephan Serino was born and raised in Los Angeles. After graduating high school in 1998, he attended the University of California in Santa Barbara (UCSB) where he did his undergraduate studies and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. After college, he became a teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District. He taught math and science at various high schools including a long stint at the Sylmar High School Math and Science Magnet. After a few years of teaching, he went on to dental school at Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA and received his DMD degree. He returned to California after graduating from dental school and spent 5 years as an associate dentist in San Diego. He was awarded faculty status at UCSD where he volunteered at the university run free clinic. While volunteering, he saw patients and taught future dentists about the art and science of dentistry. In 2015, he spent one month on a Navy Run Humanitarian mission as a civilian volunteer dentist aboard the USNS Comfort, a hospital ship that sailed into Latin American and Caribbean ports and treated the local population.
